Pedernales Falls State Park
Write an entry Entries about this placeDid it change my life? by TheThunderMooseI camped here, with my mother, brother, and grandma. On the second day, we went out to the cascades. Water was low, due to a lack of recent rain, so we didn’t see scary rushing water or drowning people that ignored the “OH MY GOD, NO SWIMMINGPLEASE” signs. Instead, we saw these gigantic rocks, bare and sun bleached. They reminded me of dinosaur backs, or something equally prehistoric and grand and kind of scary. This was the one time I didn’t have my camera with me. We also hiked near the riverfront, where I was struck by all the autumnal colors- everywhere, walls of trees in striking greens, reds, and yellows provided backdrops. It’s beautiful. camping & decamping by BootStrapPixiWhile camping here in 2001 a crazy-huge storm hit. I had to evac in the middle of the night with my leetle puppy & wasn’t able to get back & recover my stuff due to impassable roads for several days. I took tons of pics before & afret, you can see them here: |
