Vác (pronounced [ˈvaːts], approximately "vats"), (Slovak: Vacov, German: Waitzen, Latin: Vacium) is a city in Pest county in Hungary with approximately 33,000 inhabitants. The town is occasionally known in Hungarian by the archaic names Vacz and Vacs.
