I’ve been on authentic replicas of the Nina (that’s Columbus’s boat) and the Nonsuch (which was good too), and they were good. But they paled in the face of the USS Constitution. Truly one of the most complete tallship tours I’ve ever taken. over 5 years agoSchool and family trips by MFMSchool & family trips over 5 years agoUntitled by NedRaggett…was so many years ago now. 1984, maybe? I think it probably meant more to my dad, the Navy man, than me, but I was enough of a history buff to appreciate it still. It is a wooden hulled three masted frigate built out of resiliant live oak trees, which was so strong that cannon balls would bounce off her hull and earned her the name “Old Ironsides.” The ship is open for tours and is well worth the visit if you are interested in navel history. over 5 years ago |
