On October 27, 2006, I was one of two finalists for Round 11 of AOL’s Gold Rush. I competed for $100,000, live, on the CBS Early Show. The competition was held outdoors on the plaza right next to the Apple Store. I won the competition, and came home with $100,000!

I’m not an Apple fan (quite the opposite, in fact) but the cube itself is something to see. Inside is nothing special, but there’s about three dozen computers setup with internet access and they don’t seem to mind the leechers.

I bought my incase powerbook bag here. The employees are very nice & helpful- I had a chat with one of them about what bag I should choose, and I’m really happy with his suggestion to get the incase bag.
For some reason, I thought it would be HUGE inside, but it’s really not. The staircase is very cool, though, and it’s right outside the entrance to FAO Schwartz.

This store totally saved me at 8pm on Sunday when I desperately needed crap they sold. Even in the city that never sleeps, TekServe and the Apple Store Soho were closed. The space is pretty amazing. They have a spiral glass staircase, a circular elevator and no checkout lines. It’s worth going to, even if you’re just there to check your email…
