WSM in Carrboro. Maybe still a little more traditional co-op feel (when you walk in you can smell the patchouli) but a really good selection (even some meat!) and a good feel.

I miss Wheatsville! The deli has the best breakfast tacos made with vegan sausage.

While it’s not particularly cheap, Wheatsville has some items that you can’t find elsewhere. I wouldn’t do my ordinary shopping here, but I like to pick up special things now and then. They carry soy nog around the holidays and the individual sized Silk soy lattes year-round. They have fabulous organic produce and some fresh packaged meals (like vegetarian Thanksgiving foods when timely) that are pretty good. The bulk section has some good teas, dried fruits, and animal crackers. The frozen section has some fake meat dishes that you won’t find at other grocery stores in Austin, and they sell Tofutti Cuties individually if you don’t want to buy a whole box. There’s also a little deli, but I’ve never gotten anything there.
