Not worth it!
Don’t look in either Dallas or Fort Worth. Despite its name, it is located in neither, but rather between the two in the city of Euless.

Were it not for DFW I would never have met my husband.
I am a Brit and he is a Texan. He met me at the airport with a pink rose (my favorite plus was my icon in the chat room in which we met) and we knew this was the real thing instantly. That was over 3 1/2 years ago now and he shows no signs in wanting me back on a ‘plane to UK… yet! Lol So I have a certain fondness for DFW airport.
As for the airport itself I thought it was easy to navigate, far more so than Heathrow or Gatwick airports in UK. Although UK airports have smoking area which I like given it takes about 10 hours to fly direct to DFW, never mind having to hang about in departures for a couple of hours! Although UK beats duty-free stores for variety of goods handsdown over American ones I have been to.

I have a theory about anti-Texas sentiment: it’s Dallas’ fault.
I adore Texas. I’m a Houstonian, born and raised. I love the Hill Country. I’ve listened to Buddy Holly in Lubbock. I get all choked up every time I leave Orange and cross into Louisiana. But I hate Dallas with every fiber of my being for reasons I can’t fully explain.
If Dallas embodies the stereotypical Texan attitude – big hair, big cowboy hats, people flaunting their wealth – then DFW embodies Dallas.
It’s huge, it takes forever to get anywhere, and there are about six billion stores. It’s more like a mall than an airport, and I just find that completely ridiculous.

I have flown American Airlines many times to México. I always stop by the Dallas Cowboy store while I am there!
I have also taken many good photos in the air, from the airplane from Dallas to Méxcio City.
Good memories…in transition.

I used to be TERRIFIED of heights! That is until August 13, 2006 when my boyfriend and I went to Las Vegas. I had a window seat and watched as we rose into to the sky. I was so overwhelmed I cried. The only things I didn’t like were the dips the plane would make every now and then.

so, the airport itself isn’t that bad, as far as airports go. it’s very modern and clean.
my only warning is this: if, for whatever reason, your connecting flight boards/departs within 30 minutes of your landing… run like hell. the place is huge and you need to catch a little light-rail thing to get to each of the separate terminals. i was lucky and actually made my connecting flight after a delayed take-off from the first flight, other people weren’t so lucky and were left behind.

Due to unfortunate routing and “thanks” to American Airlines, we spent eight hours here last Friday. There are definitely worse airports to get get in for eight hours! The international terminal has the best shopping and dining, I think. The views from the new SkyLink are nice, but it can be pretty slow if you need to move from the C to D terminal (or vice versa).

It’s huge, but I found it easy to find where I was going. I was supposed to be stop here, and catch a flight to Colorado Springs, but because of delaying at the first airport, I missed the Colorado plane. This airport was great, giving me an amazing hotel, close by, and the earliest flight the next morning. The shuttle bus dropped me off exactly where I needed to be.
