Despite its name, it is located in neither, but rather between the two in the city of Euless. over 5 years agoUntitled by BethWere it not for DFW I would never have met my husband. I am a Brit and he is a Texan. He met me at the airport with a pink rose (my favorite plus was my icon in the chat room in which we met) and we knew this was the real thing instantly. That was over 3 1/2 years ago now and he shows no signs in wanting me back on a ’plane to UK… yet! Lol So I have a certain fondness for DFW airport. As for the airport itself I thought it was easy to navigate, far more so than Heathrow or Gatwick airports in UK. Although UK airports have smoking area which I like given it takes about 10 hours to fly direct to DFW, never mind having to hang about in departures for a couple of hours! Although UK beats duty-free stores for variety of goods handsdown over American ones I have been to. over 5 years agoDFW by EmilyI have a theory about anti-Texas sentiment: it’s Dallas’ fault. I adore Texas. I’m a Houstonian, born and raised. I love the Hill Country. I’ve listened to Buddy Holly in Lubbock. I get all choked up every time I leave Orange and cross into Louisiana. But I hate Dallas with every fiber of my being for reasons I can’t fully explain. If Dallas embodies the stereotypical Texan attitude – big hair, big cowboy hats, people flaunting their wealth – then DFW embodies Dallas. It’s huge, it takes forever to get anywhere, and there are about six billion stores. It’s more like a mall than an airport, and I just find that completely ridiculous. over 5 years agoyikes! by ABrandNewDayway too many people, id almost bet that there were more people in that airport then there are in my whole town. over 5 years agoSee all 25 entries |
