Why I recommend this place to locals — 2 years ago
Worth visiting!
This place is an example of what makes America so right and wrong at the same time. But perhaps 51% right and therefore worth it all the more.
I don’t know what they put on their frozen hash browns before they’re browned, but the crispy exterior makes me want to kiss the cook. When ordering the eggs benedict take the hollandaise on the side or you’ll drown in sauce. The hot tea comes in those strange glass bulbs with the brown, plastic collar that look more like lab glassware. It spills the tea when you pour.
The people who go here are great and the staff is among the friendliest you’ll ever meet. It’s a place where reading the paper is a joy as you gear up for your lazy weekend adventures. If you’re from out of town, I absolutely do not suggest that you go here. You’ll hate it because it’s not “good”. If you’re local, come see the people that live in your city and want to connect with other locals. Alyssa loves the pancakes here and so do I.
