A tip I have about this place
When I visted Victoria Harbour, it was nighttime - of course - because I wanted to see the lightshow. Unfortunately, I didn’t know much about what was going on, so I missed out on a LOT of the fun. Firstly, the lightshow comes with sound—but it’s broadcast in three different languages, each on different nights. Be sure to find out what night they’re doing the show in English before you go down, it’ll make the show that much more enjoyable!

A review of this place
There are some places that we know are “touristy”. Victoria Harbour is always used to depict Hongkong to tourists. However, tons of locals are seen here too so its gotta be pretty good and/or part of their lifestyle anyways. I’ve gotta say that the Star Ferry ride across the harbour is one of the most value-for-$ things you could do in Hongkong. Lots of business workers and other Hongkongers take the ferry everyday to get to HK island.
Its easy to tell the difference between tourists and the locals: tourists go for the upper deck and head straight for the window seats! Another interesting things is that the back rests for the seats can face both ways (the ferry doesn’t turn around to head back in the other direction, you just push the seat rests the other way) :D

The first time I went to this place
Actually I just saw this part through the water front. I haven’t rode the ferry yet so I really need to go back to this place.

The "Star" Ferry
I definitely recommend taking the ferry across the harbour at least once. We took the Star Ferry, which runs every 10 minutes, several times to get from Central to Tsim Sha Tsui. We also took a smaller ferry to Lamma Island, although I was disappointed that we were in a closed windowed cabin because the views were amazing.
