    The Afsluitdijk is actually between Noord Holland and Friesland – it’s a 32 km. dyke separating what used to be the salt water Zuider Zee (now the freshwater IJsselmeer) from the North Sea. Not as amazing as the Delta Works, but still an engineering marvel worth seeing.
