Scandinavia House

I am kind of obsessed with this place. I visited two or three times in December 2005 because it was near our hotel and oh so good! I’m straight up American with no Scandinavian heritage (never even been there), but I loved it all the same. On the ground floor is the café, which is very good. It’s reasonably priced, efficient, and delicious. I had a herring plate, tomato soup, and a smorgasbord/variety plate on the three occasions I visited – all were good. Upstairs was the shop – lots of Christmas gifts during the time I was there, such as sweaters and candies. These were more expensive. A nice touch at the store was the free hot mulled wine.
