You MUST, regardless of your vegetarian ways, eat at the O in Oakland. Avoid the hot dogs, or not, but you MUST have a beer and some fries in this legendary Pitt eatery.

I am going with my husband on Feb. 15 for our anniversary. Not sure what we will do yet but look forward to finding out!

I first gave the burgh the Not Worth It rating, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend moving there. Lived there for almost four years and it felt like I was doing time. I was fat and depressed most of that time, due to never leaving my house. Worst weather I’ve ever lived through (and I’ve lived in Alaska and upstate NY!), Very very very provincial city.
This being said, and I can’t believe I’m typing these words… I sort of miss the place, not to live GOD not to LIVE…but it’s not without it’s charm. The strip district is great for foodies, the old theaters that get decent live music are pretty awesome, as well as small clubs like Club Cafe.
Restaurants I miss: Kelly’s Bar and Grill, and Sushi Tomo.

Although Pittsburgh, in my opinion, doesn’t offer the big-city attractions that Philadelphia does, it does have a different sort of allure. The nightlife is a bit lacking, but it makes up for all of that with its striking scenery, its hills and rivers, and its beautiful bridges. It’s a nice place for families, where Kennywood, Hershey Park, and the Pittsburgh Zoo are but a short drive away, but the fact that most of my family lives in the area is what really makes Pittsburgh one of my favorite places.

first of all it really is a “pitt” in the middle of a “burgh” lol! coming through the tunnel to get to the city is cool as hell. Love the scenery, everyone was VERY helpful with directions. Went to some club called privilege in the strip district. Had a blast! did a little shopping on walnut street and all sorts of shit. i had a good time. can’t wait to go back.

Great restaurants and nightlife, though it seemed the whole city smoked (reminds me of Chicago in that way).
