It’s just a little park in Old Strathcona that overlooks the river valley onto downtown, but it’s a good place to sit and read near Tommy Banks Way. The railway used to go all the way to the edge of the river and stopped where they have the marker here, but now it stops a couple blocks further south, and the old train station’s been converted to a bar called The Iron Horse.
As well, the Yardbird Suite is right by End of Steel, and Michaelle Jean and Jean-Daniel Lafond popped by the other day to see some local jazz with guys like PJ Perry. Plus the Catalyst Theatre is right around the corner. So all in all a cool place.
