Diedrich Coffee - Montrose

Diedrich is a great cup of coffe without the b.s. of you know where. The Diedrich on Montrose is really the only one I like, even though the Westheimer one is closer to me.

I do miss the rude comments I used to get when I first went though. They seem nicer now. My first venture into the place, I was looking at the menu trying to decide what to get when the nice girl behind the counter said “Uh hey, you know I am right here so if you tell me what you want then I can make it instead of just standing here”. That was the second I fell in love with the place.

Diedrich’s is all right. For a while I went to poetry readings there, but out of nowhere the manager changed his mind and said that our readings weren’t making enough money and told us we weren’t allowed to have them there any more. Guess who took us in? Krispy Kreme. And they never complained that we weren’t generating enough money for them.
