There are no flashy exhibits, and the animal selection is fairly limited, but it is saving animal lives that might otherwise be lost. For that, the zoo is worth visiting even if you’re bored by (gasp!) just admiring the animals without an immersive and interactive multimedia experience. over 5 years agoUntitled by nycoleenI love the Austin Zoo. What people have to realize about this place though is that it is a rehabilitation zoo, so there aren’t going to be big giraffes and lions and such. It’s a great mini zoo for kids. A nice little day trip in the hill country. I loved it when I was younger and I still love it. over 5 years agoAustin Zoo - Exotic Animal Rescue by Kim NThe Austin Zoo isn’t a big flashy zoo like they have in San Diego, but I think that’s part of its charm. They have rescued animals there. Lions, tigers, bears and all. You can get much closer to the big cats than at other zoos I’ve been to. The tigers were playing and the female lions wrestled a bit. It was a lot of fun. I’ll have a picture gallery to show at some point. over 5 years ago |
