I was stationed here for about 4 years and while the town of Aviano it is cetrally located. You can be at the beach in under2 hours and your already at the base of the Dolomite mountain range. Traval around Europe is easy from here and you can rech just about anywhere in a day or less. Great food, nice scenery, and nice people.
