Once a Spectacular Waterfall by sandienc
I first visited this area about 40 years ago and I was most impressed. I have since visited this waterfall twice and, even though I love all falls, I was a bit disappointed. The falls are accesed via a loooooooooong seriesof steps or a looooong gutted dirt road (uphill). On both occasions the falls were a mere trickle in spite of the nonstop rainfall on the last visit.
There is an admission fee (Chimney Rock Park). The ‘running river’ off the highway are pleasand and offers nice picnic areas.
