Avalon

This is where I saw my first concert, and many after.
I’ve been down on the floor off to the side, up on the VIP area, in the back, and right up front againt the barrier. There trully is no place in this venue with poor sound.

And a treat it was! Enjoyed it and the Axis both quite a bit, as we took over both venues for most of the weekend (everyone had to crowd into the Axis for the final night, but anyway). Met a lot of folks there for the first time as they were selling things that I’m still in touch with, like Nemo from Time-Lag for instance. Best sets in that venue would have included Windy and Carl and Paik, so go Michigan…

I’ve been here several times with friends. Personally, I prefer less “look-at-me” clubs than this one. Took way too long to get a drink, sad since I was in the VIP section and there weren’t many others there. Unless there’s a killer band playing, I doubt I’ll ever go back.

Avalon is a Lansdowne Street fixture for live music. Great dance floor, excellent acoustics, lots of nooks and crannies for observation and several bar scattered around the place make it a wonderful venue. And it is on Lansdowne in the heart of Fenway.
