TGIF Jazz in the Parks is a summer Jazz Festival held at various public parks in Carlsbad. The event is held on Fridays in the summer from 6 to 8 pm. Pack a picnic (and some wine) and head on over – it’s a fun, FREE, family event and totally worth checking out.

I love Carlsbad…particularly the huge windmill right off the freeway at Palomar Airport Road. The windmill houses a catering company as well as a TGIFriday’s. It used to be a Pea Soup Anderson’s restaurant (the only remaining location is in Buellton, CA). Adjacent to the windmill is a hotel – the Holiday inn Carlsbad-by-the-Sea.

I would also love to visit the flower fields sometime when the flowers are in bloom. Carlsbad is truly one of the most underrated places in SoCal :)

Pretty place! by Tina58

We had a fantastic time in Carlsbad. The weather was gorgeous and the living was easy. Across the road from our hotel was a lovely Greek restaurant that served delicious food and I finally got to have some Greek coffee since arriving to America. I had withdrawal symptoms for all of 3 days!!!!

The outlet shops were excellent and I picked up stacks of bargains. I even found the Swarovski outlet and it was the only one in The States. The prices were fantastic and I bought lots of unusual pieces, including a gorgeous mint green suede and crystal handbag!

I would definitely recommend Carlsbad as it was lots of fun!
