Northern California aka: NorCal

If you are traveling here, be sure to stop bye Mt.Shasta… or even better, Mt.Lassen, out my bedroom window I can see both of them, they are volcanoes, but you can go to Mt.Lassen national park, in the middle of july the last time I was there, there was snow over all the buildings, they had to shovel out a place for the door!

I was born and raised in Northern California. If you need any travel tips I’d be happy to help, it is truly a beautiful area and unique from anywhere else I have travelled. San Francisco is well-known for good reason, Napa Valley is completely amazing particularly if you enjoy wine and great food. If you make it up a bit farther north you enter the historic redwood forests and can ride the Skunk Train from Willits to Fort Bragg for an afternoon.

...for me, I guess, I’d say it was everything from the Bay Area north, arbitrary but as good as anything else. I’ve been through Northern California all the way to Oregon a few times now, by different roads and for different reasons, including family visits for relatives now passed on or moved away. I’ll be swinging through it again via train this time next week, and I’ll look forward to it as yet another new way to experience a familiar area.
