Brussels Bistro

True, Yard House has Stella Artois and Gulden Draak, and BJ’s will serve you a Duvel from a bottle, but Brussels Bistro is the only bona fide Belgian place with a variety of abbey ales on tap and an authentic Belgian menu.

Don’t miss Leffe – both blonde (pale) and brune (dark) are recommended, although I think the only have one of them.

The rest are worth trying, too – Maredsous, for one.

Food, in the best Belgian tradition, is heavy and mostly pricy. Chicken and mushroom filled crepes are cheaper than most entres and very filling.

Try to grab one of the three tables at the top of the stairs leading down into the cellar. That way you can people watch and kill two birds with one stone.
