Disappointed by daydreamer

I had read about this place before visiting Seattle and was really looking forward to trying it out. I can’t remember what item I ordered as it was a few years ago now, but it was extremely greasy and so heavily deep fried that I could barely taste anything else bar oil.

Maybe I made a poor choice from the menu. I’m willing to give it another go if I ever make it back to Seattle, but this time I’ll avoid any of the deep fried choices.

Who knew by CriminalSalt

They have such a kick ass brunch, but they do. Crepe station for me, halibut, lamb and other great meats for my Dad, and the mountains of pastries for my husband. We were all pretty happy with our selections.

Last time I went to Ivar’s Acres of Clams was for lunch on January 20th, 2006 at 12:30 when Lisa was in visiting from San Francisco. Lisa was being picked up from the airport by Tina and they both were supposed to meet us at Ivar’s Acres of Clams. I arrived and met Ethan me at the door. We waited a little bit and called Tina, but she did not pick up her phone. Soon Amy (who was not yet pregnant) arrived! We waited for another 5 minutes and then tried to call Tina again, but no answer. We waited for another 5 minutes and then Brad showed up. By this time Tina calls me and I am all like “Where are you” and she is all “We are already at Ivar’s Acres of Clams!!!”… which meant we were waiting for nothing!

The whole gang was there. Lisa, Tina, Brad, Amy, Scot, Ethan, and myself. Even Rose showed up! I don’t remember what everybody ordered, but I think someone ordered crab cakes! It was a joyous time.

I remember I had a $10 off coupon which we used to pay the $83.46 bill. I remember Brad spilt chowda on the crotch of his pants, but lucky he was not going back to work afterwards.

Nate was a loser and could not make it from Port Orchard, but later he announced he was getting married to the Ivar’s emails that were circulating.

I can’t wait until Lisa visits again from San Francisco!
