Worth visiting!

The store is closing on January 1st, 2007, so get in your deals while you can.

Thankfully, the folks behind the store are going to continue the label Enterruption, so you can still expect a lot of noise to stick around the city—one would hope the third annual Wooden Octopus Skull Pfestival in 2007.

[Excuse the meta-tech geekiness here, but I’ve been so happy with the appropriateness of the 43 Places ID number tag for Electric Heavyland being ”666500”]

Record/toy store for the weird/noisy  — 2 years ago

Worth visiting!

Wall Of Sound in Capitol Hill has certainly carved a niche for being a great resource for experimental/abstract music of all sorts.

Electric Heavyland adds the ”-core” to that, essentially. If you’re into any dark experimental music that ranges from the absolutely absurd to the absolutely nihilistic—or both, then Electric Heavyland is your stop. Definitely for fans of caustic hardcore rock, krautrock, dark/experimental folk/teutony a la Current 93, Nurse With Wound, early Severed Heads, etc. or just plain WTF stuff like Jandek or Caroliner etc.

The bonus is.. they sell toys! See more here:
