...but it was a pleasant day and there was lots to see, and having lunch at Sushi Sushi was v. good all around. Looks well worth investigating in more detail, as I’m sure the residents could say!

Go to the SeJuiced Café at 4th avenue and Cypress. Order the spinach and tofu stirfry for breakfast. May sound gross, but it’s so good.

Kits is probably the best place to live if you’re a financially well-off UBC student. It’s just minutes east of the campus by bus, and just a few more minutes south and west of downtown Vancouver.

It’s become a place where more families have moved in and bought houses like crazy, so it’s become overpriced compared to what you get from it overall. The Commercial Drive area is a better value for your money, whether visiting or staying.

That said, it’s hard to complain about a neighborhood that has an excellent record store (Zulu), an excellent Ethiopian Place (Nyala), a great 24-hour vegetarian ‘brunch’ place (The Naam), a great 24-hour all-purpose sandwich/pastry/cafe, an excellent and well-priced sushi place (Sushi Sushi), and a gazillion other stores off either Broadway or 4th.
