Rasuwa District

Rasuwa District is located in the north of capital city Kathmandu of Nepal and is full with natural beauty. It covers an area of 1514 square km. and it covers the altitude from 314m to 7234m. Which is located in 27˚2’ to 27˚10’ northern latitude and 85˚45’ to 85˚08’ eastern longitude. It has one constituency 9 Ilaka (Region) and 18 village development committees. Physically Rasuwa district can be divided in upper and lower region. According to the census of 2058, B.S this district has a population of 44731, the expected population of this year is 49301, and the population of this district is increasing in the rate of 1.85%. The number of houses in this district is 8609 according to the census of 2058.

Tibet autonomous area of China is located in the north of this district, Nuwakot district in the south, Sindhupalchok district is in the east and Dhading district is in the west. Geographically it is remote area and its social, economic and developmental status is very low and from the last few years it is facing the terrible problem of landslide and through this more than 25 people has lost their life, many people have become homeless and have lost their property and fertile land. The living of northern and western part of this district has become very difficult and the people living in these regions are facing various problems as shortage of fuel, food etc.
