Ara Pacis

After seven years, they finally completed the new “shell”, and the Ara Pacis is visible again. Before you cringe at the new look think that it used to be encapsulated in a concrete “box”, built during the fascist Ventennio, and that the architectures of the surrounding square are a weird mix of baroque and rationalistic art (with the tomb of Augustus in the middle—so much for being fusion).
I checked in yesterday, and I still have to decide if I like Meier’s project or not.
