Lake Mead aka: Lake Mead National Recreation Area

Just follow the road back past the boat ramp ,, back down to the water.. turn on the tunes.. and drink a cold one…. during the summer it can get crowded on weekends.. weekdays are great.. enjoy the true tranquility and ponder about the absurdness of all this water in the desert..

Dead bodies under the lake? Maybe. Mutant Fishies? Definatley. =) But all around it’s a nice place to visit, the fish are a bit jumpy though, you may not want to bring a small dog around :O. The water level is quite low though, but the views are spectacular =)!

A very large part of this lake is in Nevada – the rest in Arizona. It is a very pretty lake that is always changing. Currently the water level is low, but there is still plenty of good boating. Just have to use your brains, your charts and a depth finder if you have one! Most the marinas offer boat rentals and some have jet skis.

For the landlubbers, there are several marinas with great bars and restaurants and some even have hotels. Lake Mead Marina often has live music and special events. It also has a kazillion carp and some other fish that the kids always love feeding. It is a great place for an afternoon drive or ride on the motorcycle…
