Got to see an opera here in October 2006 for 3 pesos (US$1!!) — we got all dressed up only to find no one in Buenos Aires dresses up for the Opera, even on Sunday night!

I got to the Teatro Colon just before it was too late... by AlanPatrick

I went to the magnificent Teatro Colon at the end of October 2006, just before it closed for refurbishment until May 25th 2008, when it will reopen to celebrate it’s 100th anniversary, with a performance of Verdi’s “Aida”, as per 100 years earlier.
