This place is still closed for renovations, but my wife managed to get a security guy to let her peek in the back stage door. Needless to say, she’s keen to go back to see the rest of the place, and a show!

Got to see an opera here in October 2006 for 3 pesos (US$1!!)—we got all dressed up only to find no one in Buenos Aires dresses up for the Opera, even on Sunday night!

A tip I have about this place
I went to the magnificent Teatro Colon at the end of October 2006, just before it closed for refurbishment until May 25th 2008, when it will reopen to celebrate it’s 100th anniversary, with a performance of Verdi’s “Aida”, as per 100 years earlier.
Thought people might like to know that it is shut until then. For a full review and pictures, you can check out my blog post on the Teatro Colon, Buenos Aires – hope it is of interest.
