The National Museum of Anthropology aka: Museo Nacional de Antropología

The title sums it up but seriously, if you have any interest at all in Mexico and its history then you must visit. It is the largest museum in Latin America. It’s collection is too vast to be appreciated in one visit, even if that visit consumes the entire day. Put on your best walking shoes and make sure you have a good night’s rest the day before. Even if you don’t know Spanish, there are so many things to see regarding all areas of Mexico that you cannot miss this place.

This is one of the best museums I have ever been to. Not just the pieces, but the way they are displayed, the design and layout of the museum are top class. They have put a lot of work into the exhibits over the years – I have been there many times since I was a child, from the ‘80’s to the present. It is definitely not to be missed if you are in the city.
