Whistler-Blackcomb Ski Resort

We made a trip to Whistler with 10 friends from the US 4 years ago when the US dollar was very strong; it was an epic week; best snow in 15 years according to the locals.

We stayed at a friends condo on a lake a few miles north of the resort; there were great ski in, ski out accommodations at the base of the main lift.

Both the Whistler and Blackcomb sides of the resort funneled down in to the same area. There was an option called “fresh tracks” to catch the early gondola up 45 minutes before everything else started running. You have breakfast at the top; as soon as the ski patrol is finished with the dynamite the horn sounds and we were able to get 3 to 6 powders runs in before there were lift lines.

I haven’t been to Whistler-Blackcomb in years, but I have only the best memories. I actually learned to ski as a child here, and remember following my instructor down the bunny slope, arms waving wildly – and I remember thinking as my family walked to dinner that I felt as if I was in a beautiful fairy tale (we don’t have snow in San Diego). Absolutely loved it! Great place for beginning and REALLY advanced winter sports! Enjoy!

All i can say to this one is I must be lazy. I live 5 hours away from the world class ski/snowboard resort and have never even been. So I’m setting a goal, I want to visit Whistler before i turn 30. That gives me a few years. lol

I’ve been to Whistler around 4 times and skied one of those times. It was a beautiful bluebird day, the snow was perfect, the people were friendly, the lines were short and fast. I didn’t want to leave! 7th heaven is my favorite place on Blackcomb to ski. Go to Whistler/Blackcomb if you haven’t been before!
