Monterey Peninsula

This is a beautiful area, plus it has quite a bit of wildlife. Not to be missed

I loved my visit to Monterey, Pacific Grove, and surrounding environs. It is gorgeous there. Very temperate locale with ocean-side views. I have loved books by Steinbeck since I was in sixth grade or so. It was awesome to see the area that he most often wrote about: Salinas Valley, Pacific Grove, Cannery Row, etc. I loved the aquarium and our day trips to carmel and 17-mile drive.

I have never lived there, but my grandparents did, my dad’s from there (semi-obviously), my parents live there now, and my uncle and his family also live there (though my cousins are elsewhere now). The whole peninsula, from Monterey to the Carmel River and back, is very much key to so many memories of visits throughout my life. If I end up living there towards the end of my days, I think I will be a very fortunate person indeed.
