Why I recommend this place to visitors
My family has decided to try to come here every summer to see a few plays. Ashland is a beautiful charming small town and seeing Shakespeare and other plays at the outdoor Elizabethan is a memorable experience.
A wonderful place to spend a few days with friends or family!

A review of this place: SUPERB!
I’ve been coming each year for the last few years to see at least one play. The performances are always entertaining and have quality acting. The festival has a total of 4 theaters and it is a must to watch a play in the Elizabethian Theater which is the giant outdoor theater.
About half of all the plays each year are Shakespeare plays, but there are also a number of modern plays which are easier to listen to. I find it challenging to comprehend all the Elizabethian language in the Shakespeare plays, but overall the plots are always clear enough. This year I saw a wonderful musical called “Tracy’s Tiger” in one of the smaller theaters. However, all these plays can put some damage to your wallet. I paid $44 for a bad seat in Tracy’s Tiger, yet it was well worth it.

A tip I have about this place
If you’re short on cash (students, backpackers, etc) find a bar to eat in. The restaurants are fairly pricey, mostly, but the bars are great during the day, and most of them serve amazing food. NICE people, too.
