Write an entry Entries about this placeUntitled by faadumoI’m a Native of Somaliland from the city of Burco. I’ve last visited in 1987 and was due to return the very week the civil war broke out. I don’t have many relatives that I know living there now. I would like to get to know those that are there, to explore the country, especially the coastal towns of Berbera and Zaila. It’s hard to map because it’s not on the map. Tut, tut @ Mr google. But then again, the best of places are never maped. Somaliland is the break away, independent State of the former Somali Republic. It declared it’s independence in May 1991 after the collapse of the Military regime. Somaliland has it’s own President; Daahir Riyaale Kaahin and an elected government and is actively seeking International Recognition. Read more: |
