Most beautiful place in the World
I love Huahine. I spent several days on this island for my Honeymoon. This is where I would love to spend the rest of my life. It’s so beautiful and peaceful and so untouched compared to the other French Polynesian islands.

My uncle, Rande Vetterli, lives here. He’s known around the islands as Pecherman, because he fishes for a living. I had a fantastic summer there at his place and that’s where I started learning French as well.
High prices, but a wonderful culture and a really shockingly beautiful setting.

Introduction to Huahine

To catch a glimpse of "the way Tahiti used to be," as they say in these parts, you should stop at Huahine, the third most beautiful island in French Polynesia (behind Moorea and Bora Bora). Agriculture still far outweighs tourism on Huahine, and unless a cruise ship is in port, you'll have it almost to yourself. The friendliness of the people is unmatched anywhere in French Polynesia. Huahine is famous for its ancient archaeological sites, as is nearby Raiatea, once the most important Polynesian island and today the administrative center of the Leeward Islands. Neither Raiatea nor Tahaa, the smaller island with which it shares a lagoon, has beaches, which takes them off the usual tourist circuit. But the deep-water lagoon here is the territory's charter yacht center. You can spend a lazy week or more circumnavigating Tahaa without venturing onto the open ocean.
