Dundee

People who think Dundee is crap/depressing obviously don’t know it very well!

It’s not that nice a place to visit (there aren’t any particularly interesting tourist attractions for most people) and like any city, it has it’s bad areas; but it is an utterly fantastic place to live …

Everything is really close together, and it has most chain shops you could want for; aswell as a bunch of smaller unique shops. There’s a ton of great restaraunts and bars, and everything is really cheap. (Taxi’s here were found to be cheapest in the UK) Rent is really cheap too, even in the best desirable areas (City Center/West End)

It’s kindof meh to visit; but it’s a totally wonderful place to stay :)

I actually liked Dundee more than the other cities we went to. More normal people, and despite the fact that the city obviously doesn’t have a lot of money and is/was industrial, at least they seem to be trying to make things better.

I went to University in Dundee and so it will always have a special place in my heart. Apart from that it is different to anywhere else I have found, with everything you need without being too big.

So it has it’s less nice areas – doesn’t everywhere! The nice bits outweigh them anyhow

I have always found this city astonishingly depressing and I reccomend Dundee to anyone as a measure of how tedious a place can be.

But has the best waterfront of any British city

Notice how the Tay bridge slopes downhill fom Fife ? That should tell you something.
Two good things about Dundee – the road and railway out of it !

I have to admit I didn’t see very much of the city as I spent most of the time indoors on a training course. The trip up there in the car was very scenic though.

I got to study art in Scotland & that’s when I found out how highly they value education. The Scots are hilarious and it was a wonderful experience.

and I’m going to go again.

I sort of ‘have to’ go because I have family there, but it is a nice city to visit and interesting to cycle up all those hills

my family come from here, I’m going back for a weekend this summer to see my Gran.
