I lived in Blue Ridge for a total of 10 months. I lived at a “so-called” boarding school named Darrington Academy. As a newly turned 17-year-old, I was extremely rebellious and was one of those bad ass girls. I would do anything and everything I wanted. There’s a deeper story behind why I did it all, but that’s for another time. :] But anyway.. my parents had their last straw with me. They asked if I would come down to Atlanta with them to look at property and we’ll make a vacation since I had one more week until my senior year started. I said NO. But they forced me and off we went.
Before I knew it, we showed up to this ugly looking building and I found out that my parents had lied. They lied so that they could send me to a school in Blue Ridge and I never got to tell any of my friends goodbye or even my old life goodbye. There was good that came out of it and there was bad..
I’m turning 19 in a few more months. Memories burn through my brain all the time and I wonder how I survived and still am surviving. It’s crazy now that I think about it.
