Everyone knows Foster Auditorium from George Wallace’s infamous Stand in the Schoolhouse Door in which he tried to defy federal orders to integrate the University of Alabama. This building is an embarassing but important part of history, yet today it is falling apart and riddled with asbestos. There is talk about it being torn down, but it is an important historical landmark.
