Worth visiting!
Okay, so it’s not as green as it used to be since they re-did the whole thing for the centennial and paved over all the grass and trees. But it does have a couple cool new pieces of art, a nice new amphitheatre, and excellent contextual relationships with the whole area. It really works well with the Winspear, Stanley Milner Library, City Centre Mall, City Hall, the Winspear, and what will be the new Art Gallery of Alberta.
This is where all the big events in summer tend to gravitate toward, especially Taste of Edmonton and the Street Performer’s Festival, but the latter isn’t as fun now that there’s no grass to sit down on.
