Xai-Xai

i was in Mozam in march – april 2007, with my boyfriend and his dad.
we did over 2000ks going from maputo, to xai xai and back down to ponta de oura!!

Xai Xai was by far the best place i went to because of this hotel, we were told about it by our friend whom we stayed with in maputo – however she was not sure whether it was still standing.
I took one look at the plac when we arrived and fell completely in love with it, there was an immediate connection felt.
i was so eager to race inside and explore yet i also wanted to take as many pics as possible.
there was an old porteguese speaking man who lives in one of the bigger outside rooms, he appears to live on his own. He asked for a ciggarette when we arrived and when we left we gave him a whole box.
My boyfriend and his Dad were equally captivated by the place, i could feel the magic and beauty within this place. i actually cannot put into words how i feel about this hotel
on a sad note this hotel is very run down, and when rebuilt will probably need complete replacement, the steel has rusted within the buildings and the sea air has done no good when there is no maintenance.
i however have heard that this hotel has since been bought by a company, i would like anyone to contact me with any informaion whatsoever about this hotel, and definately if u also have photos, and if you know about his company or group who are buying old or abandoned hotels.
your help would be greatly appreciated.

i strongly recommend a visit to this beautiful setttin in Mozam, Xai Xai truly has potential to beautify even more than it already is.
