Redwood

Redwood is like Linda’s Junior Varsity bar. Even if you already have your letters, there’s something kind of precious and endearing about watching the youngsters play.

All the tables were taken when we got there but one soon opened up. There seem to be animals lurking everywhere: glowing owls above the bar, a black crow in a lantern near the jukebox. I especially liked the horse paint-by-numbers-esque paintings on the tables, and I like the animal paintings in the bathroom.

We walked in here once in search of food. The guy at the door said, “We have food because we have to, but it’s really bad and really expensive.” So we left to have grilled cheese at Linda’s. I hear they have a lot of peanuts though. I want to go back for a proper drink soon.
