Green Gables

My family and I really didn’t want to go the whole “Anne” thing but, if we didn’t, people would have thought us nuts so we went. It wasn’t all that thrilling though. My grandparents have a lot of the same things that were there so it wasn’t very interesting.

I read the first book, saw the first series about Anne, and loved the long-running series called Avonlea. I fell in love with the place and the time. I think I was born in the wrong place at the wrong time. I wonder if the area looks nice, or if it has grown too city-ish and lost its charm.

Go rent the movie or read the books – Anne of Green Gables is a magical story that so many of us have grown up on here in the Maritimes. I love it. I love going to PEI because the whole island has this unique, inviting flavour to it in the summertime. I think Green Gables adds to that.
