Why I recommend this place to visitors

Alright, picture this:

It’s warm, almost too warm. You feel in need of freshening up, so you walk over to this beach.

Now, this is a positively GORGEOUS beach. There’s powder white sand for miles, soft and smooth under your feet. You can’t believe you’re in Ontario, and begin to search for palm trees subconsciencously (sp?).

You step into the water, and it’s warm, like a bath. The sun makes it like this, late July to early August is the best for water temperature. You begin to walk out…

You’re still walking. There’s sand bars stretching waaaay out, and the sun is beating down on you. But you’re not longer too warm, you’re just perfect, as a gentle wave rolls in from the stream of a boat off in the distance.

There’s a boardwalk and an amusement park for when you get too pruny to stay in the water. It’s like a paradise, and you’re standing in the middle of it.

I dream about going to this place all year long because I love it so much. And when summer rolls around, and it’s time for our annual trip to my aunt and uncle’s condo out there, you can’t push me off cloud nine, even if you had a bulldozer.

This is a place DEFINETLY worth going to!!!

The nice thing about 14 km of freshwater beach is that there’s room for everyone. So if you’re like me and not crazy about the busy strip with all the shops you might enjoy kiteflying at dusk when all the daytrippers are leaving. It’s unstoppable.

Beautiful beach on Georgian Bay

I’ve been going to Wasaga Beach in the summer ever since I was a kid. Part of the reason I love it has to be the memories, but it seems to me that the town’s been growing a lot in the past few years. It’s widely known as the world’s longest freshwater beach, at about 13km long. When I was a kid the greatest thing was that you could walk out forever and the water stayed shallow, so that gave us a lot of room to play.
