Why I recommend this place to visitors

Stunning scenery everywhere you look. And hardly any traffic so no-one will honk at you if you slow down to admire it :)

This is the best and only way to see Iceland in a conventional car. The area in between Akureyri and Egilsstadir is now all paved and makes the trip through the desert much, much easier now. At every turn, there is beauty and something to see.
