Worth visiting!

I consider myself really lucky to live very, very close to the river. Over lunch I just took a walk along it. So beautiful!

awesome water power  — 2 years ago

Worth visiting!

I’ve seen it where it starts in Itasca county minnesota, seen it from both sides in iowa and illinois. viewed it from the arch in st louis missiouri, crossed it in tennessee, and back again in kentucky.over it in arkansas, louisianna and in the state it’s named for mississippi. the water has so much power, not just to move goods and people but to help shape our nation.

The body of a nation  — 2 years ago

Worth visiting!

We visited “Old Man River” in Memphis, on the border with Arkansas. It’s not terribly exciting, but just thinking about the importance of the Mississippi, its impact on the economy and geography and history of America was pretty amazing. We had to climb down a rocky cliff to reach the actual river, but it was worth it to dip our toes in this famous waterway.
