Amphitheater of Arles

There are 2 great amphitheatres to visit, just 30 mins apart by train. One is in Arles, the other in Nimes. They are both similar sizes, but the one in Arles has 3 towers, one of which is accessible. There is an amazing view over the rooftops towards the Rhone.

It’s undergoing restoration, but even still pretty much all of the amphitheatre is open for visitors to explore. You can purchase a written mini guide from the reception, otherwise just sit down casually near one of the many tour groups that zip in and out and listen up :)
