The last time I went to this place
Under new ownership last I heard, no longer called Coffee Talk…
It’s pretty sad all my favorite coffee shops in Phoenix are pretty much gone.

Why I recommend this place to visitors
Its changed over the years, but is still a cool place in downtown Mesa. The shop is built out of an old house, so It has a very personal feel.

simple shabby place for coffee and grub.
Great oudoor patios with a wonderful green garden. The food selections are healthy and average. Entertainment has swing, jazz, random singer/songwriters, poetry, and book readings from time to time.

On Robson, just hair north of Main St. Coffee Talk is a TRUE “coffee house” in that it’s set in a restored Victorian house which people actually do LIVE in. I’m guessing it’s a little less than 100 yrs old, which is OLD by mesa standards. More importantly, it is an interesting structure (I will leave the details for YOU to discover). Coffee Talk does a competent job of serving all the beverages you’d expect these days from a coffee house, as well as sandwiches, salads, and desserts that are -all of them-very good, but not memorable. What distinguishes Coffee Talk is its atmosphere. You can have your food/drinks inside the house or out in the garden. Both are continually being re-decorated, re-arranged, or re-planted by someone who has brilliant sense. There is something to look at no matter where you sit, yet it is not overdone. It’s simply a great place to be, a superb spot to go with someone you like. For all the decoration, it is very comfortable and user-friendly—you can even take toddlers there and still have a great time.
