The Musikverein

I saw Anne-Sophie Mutter play here. I sat next to the orchestra. The house was pretty much full with lots of people standing in the back. The sound transmission was perfectly clear. The Oslo orchestra played that night too. See who else attends. There was definitely an Italian wife with sunglasses next to her tanned and balding husband. There was a woman who had a smile through the whole concert. The windows on the long end of the room face west. The light fades through the night.

It is customary to drink champagne during intermission.

As we wandered through Vienna, we stuck our heads into the beautiful concert hall and were happily surprised to catch an orchestra practicing – sat in on our own little mini-concert! Great architecture, acoustics.
