We stayed on an organic working sheep farm. It’s a lovely area with dramatic scenery.

Ascending the Snowdon  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

I went up to the top on 14 March…up the Snowdon Ranger Path and down the Ryd-Ddu. Cloudy at the top, but a few breaks left me breathless. Stunning views all around! It was very windy and cold at the top, though.

The Snowdon Ranger Path is beautiful and not too challenging. I want to go back someday and try from another route. It is easy to get lost, although on the Snowdon Ranger at least, there are waymakers (piles of stones to guide the path) once you start getting near the top.

Don't take the train, and don't run  — 2 years ago

Hiking up and down Mount Snowdon is much better – anyone with a decent condition can do it, you don’t have to run up like those soldiers did that passed us (heavy packs on their backs and all)! Just don’t go alone: it’s rather easy to lose the trail—especially if there’s a mist coming up (as we experienced): a good map and compass—and knowing how to use them—are essential, even if you’re only hiking down.

Given that all that, it’s an experience to never forget—and I won’t!

I recommend riding the train up Snowdon and hiking back down.
