Nice and Small by PolyStyrene

I hate flying but this airport was easy to navigate and didn’t make me curse the airline industry. Plus, there is a Salt Lick in the airport which worked for me because I missed the real one. Also, there is a Round Rock Donut Shop, incase you get a hankering for a 2 pound donut right before take-off.

It’s a much easier airport than a lot of others I’ve been to.

Not the worst airport in the world…but not the best either. It’s clean, small, easy, and very manageable as airports go… wouldn’t want a long layover here though – not so much to do / eat/ distract yourself with.

Could Almost Be Labeled "Historical" by FlyGirl

This airport is a converted airforce base. From Bergstrom Air Force base, they used to fly sorties patrolling North America during the cold war and the nuclear threat. The stepdad of a friend of mine was one of the pilots for these sorties; his wife used to stay up late at night while he was flying because there was a point in his route at which he would not be able to be recovered if he went down. It was somewhere over the Arctic Circle or something like that. She would not fall asleep until she knew he was beyond the danger zone.

At least, that is the story she tells and, even if not true, is still fun to tell.

I really consider this one of the best airports I’ve been to. it’s small, so there isn’t too much to do if you have a long time to wait, but it’s nice, and the restaurants and shops are mostly local businesses. it’s a really well-designed and easy-to-navigate airport, too. it’s nice…
