The Dia de los muertos celebration was fun, there were tons of people and so many kids but it was great because they all were so happy. The alters were nice but sad, it’s a good learning experience there’s a lot of history. It’s one of my favorite places in LA. good food, good people, nice weather go. ;) over 6 years agoDragons on Olvera! by lilycordWent there during Chinese New Year and there were dragons that paraded through the stalls. Also bought a tiny glass pig for my menagerie from the glass man that my mom frequented 40 years earlier. Good food too!!! over 6 years agoA Nice Afternoon by BirgitteOlvera Street is a great way to get out of the hustle and bustle and quite a nic nac heaven! We made the mistake of eating at one of the restaurants, because we weren’t aware of the booths serving food further down. The food at the restaurant was expensive ($13 a plate and no free refill on coke) and very mediocre. We had two kids with us and their taquitos literally tasted like burnt plastic. The restaurant was nice about it and comp’d us, but next time we will go for the $2 taco like we had planned. over 7 years agoOne of my fav Cali spots. by moonjibThe food, amazing. The shopping, flea market heaven. Get your chile covered lollipops and pose with a stuffed donkey. Awesome culture and music. They film many movie and tv scenes in the train station at Olvera St. It’s a local favorite!! over 7 years agoSee all 6 entries |
