Grand Manan Island

Me and 3 friends rented a cabin and spent a week on the island in the summer of 1992. There is a toll to get off the island by ferry, so once you’re on, you should stay there for the duration. It was great hearing the ocean at night, and I enjoyed walking the road to the lighthouse at the end.

I stayed at a whale camp for a few days for a marine biology workshop. Did a tour of the island after. You can only get to the island by air or sea, which makes it feel very secluded.

Very remote and unique. Amazing atmosphere. Wonderful experience.
